Tampa Division: Appropriate Response to Threats

We must develop a more appropriate response to threats. A Bomb threat shuts down hundreds of California schools, threats shut down highways and busy businesses and shopping malls for hours. It appears that the need to actually deliver on a threat is mostly unnecessary because the person responsible can accomplish their mission of disruption with only a phone call. The authorities must not continue to allow the “crazies” to decide what roads will remain open, what shopping centers should be closed for Christmas shoppers or what airlines one should or should not fly. Authorities must do a better job or responding appropriately to threats and actual crimes. For a commercial highway to be shut down for hours due to a traffic accident in these days of drones and other accurate ways to gather and retain information of analysis is abuse of the public. Authorities HAVE to develop a more appropriate system of responding as the present protocol is abusive and unnecessary .
