Tampa Bay Division: Sports Facilities Security

As America becomes a “football” (soccer) country, Security professionals are taking another look at our state of preparedness to accommodate the fans that attend ever increasing number of events held around the world. The world is our stage not just our city or region any more. World Cup soccer demonstrated recently the demand and the need to be prepared for large enthusiastic crowds. In addition to the crowds that attend events, venues are also expected to be the gathering points during natural and man made disasters: Remember Super bowl stadium after Hurricane Katrina?? Safety/Security professionals must prepare contingency plans for more eventualities than ever before. We MUST get ahead of the curve on this one.
