Race Relations in America!!! Hardly a day goes by that the media is not voicing its concern about race relations; all seeming to be searching for the answer as if we discovered the “secret” all would be well with the world. The world will always see color differences among our population. To pretend that someday we won’t see the differences is naive and counter productive. The key is for the differences … not to matter.
The real conflict is not color but culture. Sedentary people generally don’t like rambunctious ones.; Quiet people generally don’t hang out with noisy people (for long). I believe it is the cultural differences that cause the conflict not color. Ask any soldier if color mattered when they were under fire; no it didn’t. As long as the soldiers shared a common belief and overall tactics they would be fine regardless of color. The discussion MUST be about cultural differences if we are to at least understand the problem.
