Tampa Bay Division: Criminal Acts

The world appears to be terrorized by criminals who commit their crimes under the guise of a “cause”. I think that the Orlando mass murderer committed his crime claiming to be in support of ISIS to “justify” , at least in his mind his outrageous crime. This murderer was trying to disguise his crime by hiding it behind a cause that he barely knew anything about. He appeared not to be heavily involved or even particularly knowledgeable about the cause he said he represented. He certainly terrorized many people with his viciousness and meanness but I doubt that he was part of a larger cause. It may help us to try to understand these crimes by thinking that they are part of something else but I am afraid that some of them are simply criminal acts made more horrendous by the means available to these people. Perhaps the cause now is less important than what we can do to protect ourselves from this type of crime. We first need to defeat criminals from hurting us.
