Miami Division: Random Acts of Violence Mitigation

One of the biggest concerns of many people are random acts of violence. Criminal acts that don’t seem to be able to be avoided; being in the wrong place at the wrong time.  A famous German saying is “attempting to protect everything, protects nothing”. Our nation seems to expect our government to protect us all from all possible threats and when they don’t we feel that they have failed us. They have not failed because we have given them an impossible task. We must “harden” our own targets; we are the first responders to a criminal attack, the police are there to support us. Each business, religious locations, office building MUST be prepared to protect itself until the police can arrive to deal with the situation. We must have a plan in place, and hoping it doesn’t happen is NOT a plan. Curtis Protective Services has an Active shooter mitigation program  available to the general public. Call for information.
