Miami Division: Legalized Marijuana

Legalized Marijuana; is it coming to Florida? Across the country if not the world this question is being asked and answered with a yes. As can be understood, many people are concerned as to the consequences of this liberalization of the laws. Society is changing and accepting things that were unthinkable only a few years ago but we must be prepared. If dispensaries open, what preparations should we be making. At this time dispensaries often operate on a cash basis only with high volumes of cash. Inevitably this will attract undesirable activities and people. Safety/Security officers must be prepared to deal with emotionally unstable persons as well as the criminal element and medical emergencies. Officers will have to deploy quick medical information and perhaps transportation to the closest medical center. In addition to the obvious challenges everyone concerned will have to produce detailed records of their actions in order to mitigate the inevitable legal challenges. We are all in for interesting times.
