Florida is now moving into the high frequency Hurricane Season. We have two potential hurricanes heading our way this week although both will probably miss Florida. One of the things that we hopefully are learning is that Yes “it can happen here”. Over the past number of weeks we have seen raging fires in the west to flooding in the south. We have heat waves in the north. The weather that used to be exceptional has become the norm and we must adapt to the new norm or face the terrible consequences of not being prepared. We can’t stop bad weather but we can be better prepared to deal with it. As I have stressed so many times HAVE A PLAN. Know that the Federal, State and local governments will not always be able to respond as quickly as we have grown to expect. We need to be prepared to have enough supplies on hand to last a minimum of three days. It is growingly likely that an event like this could very easily happen. A little time in preparation will make your lives safer and less dangerous. Be prepared!
