Miami Division: Counterfeit Products Seized in Massachusetts

Counterfeit products worth an estimated street value of $30,000,000. was seized by Homeland Security investigators in Lawrence, Mass. in May of 2014. Products such as clothing, electronics, shoes and handbags were seized. The items are thought to have been smuggled into the USA from China. The seizure of the goods was followed by the arrest of forty two Chinese nationals. Counterfeit items such as those above are all to common place but an other area of concern in the counterfeiting of prescription drugs. Not only does it hurt legitimate business but it can put people who’s lives depend on the drug in harms way. Crime is truly becoming more international.
