Police are on the lookout for two people who robbed a Target store around 1am Friday morning. The two thieves pried open an exit door and smashed glass cases containing iPods, iPads, and other electronics.
Security footage shows the thieves opening the door and going straight for the electronics section, equipped with plastic totes. Investigators report that the method used to gain entrance to the store is very similar to other commercial-level burglaries in North Florida, including the Jacksonville, Florida.
As the holiday season approaches, police are likely buckling down against the threat of rising robbery rates. Since the economy continues to struggle to its feet, many people may not have they money they would like to spend on loved ones. Added security is of the upmost importance during this time.
Curtis Protective Services Security Guards are trained to patrol and protect retail as well as commercial and residential areas. Twenty-four hour security could have prevented the Target break-in and could yet prevent many more that will occur this holiday season. Curtis Security Guards are trained in random and mobile patrolling techniques as well as how to diffuse and handle situations when they occur. The fact is, however, that just having a security guard on site and alert deters a significant amount of criminal activity from ever happening.
