Jacksonville Division: Extreme Weather Safety

It is hard to go a full day without hearing or seeing weather related disasters. The media has now moved to the weather to give us our daily entertainment “fix” under the guise of news. Whenever the lead story on the evening news is the weather you know its been a quiet news day. There is no denying that extreme weather events occur every day somewhere in the world; they have for millions of years. It is only recently with advances in technology that the media can bring you a fresh disaster every day; and they certainly seem to. The point I am making is to keep weather stories in perspective. In all probability is is NOT happening to you or anyone you know. We all have a duty to be prepared for unexpected disasters but the fear (being fed by the media) should not cause undue stress. You are going to be fine.
