Drones have arrived! Drones will be replacing traditional aircraft, particularly helicopters for police, security and news reporting among other duties as they are extremely cost effective to purchase, fly, operate and maintain. These new tools will assist all of us in gathering information faster, cheaper and more accurately than ever before. In time we will see drones replace submarines for ocean patrols and surveillance.
It is interesting to see how fast our world is changing but like most things there is a mix of good and bad. We must be vigilant in protecting peoples right to privacy while balancing the need for gathering intelligence to prevent criminal acts.
I expect we will see drone attacks as well as drones used in rescues. Let us all be careful of the technology but not frightened of it.
