The man recently convicted of the Boston Marathon bombing is just a criminal. These criminals may want to see themselves as martyrs for a cause but they are not. They are individuals who try to wrap themselves in the “flag” of a cause to justify their brutal and cowardly criminal actions. Surely if they cared about a cause they would know more about it and have tried to change the course through means that work.
It is important to remember all the good people, regardless of thier beliefs who try to change the course of events through dialogue and understanding. We know that the “exception” make good news but those are the people who set a cause back not advance it. We must be patient as it takes time, sometimes a generation to turn a common held view. Look how long it took to reverse our belief that cigarettes are a tolerable entity. How long has it taken for society to begin to accept same sex marriage or racial integration. Society changes, grows, matures at different speeds; we must be patient and PERSISTENT.
