A Halloween party got out of control in South Florida after a fight broke out at an apartment complex. Witnesses state that the party started out small, but grew louder and wilder as the night progressed. Uninvited guests joined in the fun, including one man, Michael Anthony Bell, who later pulled a gun on a security guard.
A fight broke out after the uninvited guests joined the party. Mr. Bell reported that the security guard on the premises was overwhelmed and could not assist his friend, who was in trouble in the middle of the fight. Mr. Bell said he feared for his friend and for himself.
According to the security guard present at the apartment complex, Mr. Bell pulled the guard’s gun from its holster, threatened to shoot him, then fired three shots into the air. Mr. Bell then gave the gun back and ran away.
Mr. Bell maintains that he did not threaten the guard, but that he only fired the shots so that the fighting would stop.
This is one of many reasons why it’s imperative for security guards to be well trained and prepared to handle unpredictable situations. Curtis Protective Services Security Guards have all undergone extensive training and are fully licensed to perform all safety and security services in Ft. Lauderdale and around South Florida.
