School shootings to fired employees returning to seek vengeance on those whom they feel wronged them.  In these days of such a sense of entitlement people feel that they are owed even when clearly their employers acted in everyone’s best interest. Rules: Employers must take immediate action to prevent violence.  Background checks and employment history checks are a must. Have policies in place and make sure they are being followed. Terminations must be given a high priority when they become necessary. Finally have a plan IF the worst case scenario should occur. What are your staff, customers, clients to do and how will they know? It would be prudent to spend some time considering this issue because if you don’t the consequences may come back to “bite” you.
