Photo by NaypongToday, a newspaper delivery person, his girlfriend, and several residential security guards helped to save a woman trapped in a sinking car.

It was 3:30 AM when a woman lost control over her vehicle and crashed into a retention pond off John Young Parkway in Orlando, Florida. Immediately, she began calling for help and the newspaper delivery man and his girlfriend, who were driving behind her, ran to a nearby security guard station at a residential apartment complex.

The security guards called for help and quickly returned to the sinking car with the couple. The woman in the car was frantically banging on the driver’s side window as the front of the car slowly sank. The people on shore yelled to her to get in the back seat and she did.

Soon, firefighters arrived at the scene and were able to punch out the back window and bring the woman to safety on an emergency buoy. Soon after she was rescued from the car, it sank to the bottom of the pond. The woman received treatment on the scene and was not badly injured.

While the security guards weren’t the ones who physically brought the woman ashore, it’s stories like this that show the power of an alert and attentive guard that make us proud to serve central Florida’s residential and commercial facilities.
