Things are much safer that the public is being told through the media. If you look at the evening news you may think that the world is falling apart; it is not. The stories carried by the media are often hyped up to be much more dramatic that they are. The other thing to notice is how far away they have to go to get a story with sufficient drama. The news that used to be local now comes from all over the world. It seems that in order to capture “eyes” on the television they must have drama.
If you take a look at the statistics you will find that seldom have we lived in a safer time under safe conditions. We have clean water, electricity flows interrupted, food sources are good and clean and inspected. think about the last time you were personally affected by a criminal act. I suspect it was a very long time ago and in some cases, never.
Remember to keep things in perspective and enjoy this beautiful country. This is a great time to be alive in America!
